The Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) program—for future nurse practitioners and Clinical Nurse Specialists—empowers nurses to practice at the highest clinical level. In addition to diagnosing, making treatment decisions, ordering tests, and prescribing medications, these advanced practice nurses also lead people and teams and improve systems and safety. They occupy roles as Nurse Practitioners, Clinical Nurse Specialists, as nurse administrators, government leaders, teachers and professors, and chief nursing officers.

An affordable, accessible program that is consistently ranked among the nation’s best, UVA School of Nursing graduates earn more, rise faster, and reap the rewards of a world-class graduate nursing degree that opens doors.
